2016 Christmas Party
The holiday bells are ringing once again! After another successful calendar year, we congregated in the warm dwelling of our charter president: Alvin Lau for some holiday dance dance revolution, cookie trading and an abundance of chicken potluck dishes. It was wonderful to see the holidays smiles of club members and friends. We look forward to accomplishing our goals and overcoming challenges next year!

Ronald McDonald House Dinner
This time around, the Vancouver Diamond Campus Lions Club came back to Ronald McDonald House BC to cook dinner for the families. It was a spectacular event with towers of scrumptious food and tons of fun! Huge thanks to our sponsors, Canada Safeway, Save-On-Foods and Loblaws City Market for making this happen again. It is always so heart melting to see the smiles on the children and parents. This was all topped off by another awesome acoustic performance from our very own club IT Director: Paul Lam. We were able to see smiles all around before the kids were tucked into their evening movie session.
A huge thanks to our club volunteers and friends for coming out to cook!

Fall Member Appreciation BBQ
Work hard and play hard!! Even though our club is quite serious about planning and executing events, we do also take the time to come together as a Lions family and enjoy each other's company just for the sake of fun! We had a blast cooking up a storm and eating our creations as well. The night was capped off by an entertaining Karaoke session where we discovered some our Lions' hidden talents.
Thank you to our club's members Carey and Amy Lau for hosting us for this event.

Shoreline Cleanup
Hey folks! This past Saturday, we started off the Lions year with a helping hand to the environment by heading down to parks along False Creek and picked up a sizeable amount of trash. It was as much fun for us as it was good for the environment. We were constantly greeted and thanked by locals in the area and it makes us feel good to contribute our share in preserving this world for future generations!
Thank you or all the club members who participated.

2016 VDCLC Installation
It's that time again! We were thrilled to host another annual installation for our fledging club. We are pleased to welcome our newest member to be inducted at our installation: Rex Yeung into our Lions family. It was also a time to induct and swear in our new board members for 2016-2017 in particular our new president for the next two years: Samantha Ton! This serious business was balanced out by the more fun and juvenile activity of garbage bag modelling and our prop-filled photo booth. We were also graced with the presence of both our current district governor: Simon Yau and former district governor Eric Keller and Cecil Fund.
We want to extend a huge thank you to the members who came from our brother & sister Lions Clubs Vancouver Templeton Lions Club, Vancouver Chinatown Lions Club and Vancouver Diamond Lions Club.

2016 Club Whistler Retreat
Just because it is the summer doesn't mean that it's nap time for us Lions. This past weekend, our cheerful bunch made our way up to Whistler for a weekend of fun, future event planning and rediscovering our inner Lion-ness. Fun activities included white water rafting, ATV-ing and Mountain Ziplines. The intensity of these activities was only matched by the seriousness of our retrospective and future planning for yet another upcoming year. Stay tuned for more exciting events to come!

Spring Conference 2016
This past weekend, several of us attended the annual Distrct 19A Spring Conference to celebrate and reflect on the district's successes during the past year. It was an awesome fun-filled packed day. The day started with a memorial and voting for the new incoming district governor. The day was highlighted with an impactful speech by the keynote speaker Rick Hansen - a Canadian Paralympian activist and philanthropist for people with disabilities. He shared his inspirational life story with us and it was wonderful to hear about his work and how many people's life is has touched. Congratulations to our very own Alan Chan for winning the district governor appreciation award! Our club also won the club business card contest award.
A big thank you to the Conference Co-Chairpersons and the organizing committee for a fantastic program. And congratulations to DG Eric Keller on a successful Lions year! We look forward to another successful year serving with fellow lions in our district with Simon Yau at the helm!
