This time around, the Vancouver Diamond Campus Lions Club came back to Ronald McDonald House BC to cook brunch for the families. It was a spooktacular event with towers of scrumptious food and tons of fun! Huge thanks to our sponsors, Canada Safeway, Save-On-Foods and Loblaws City Market for making this happen and a huge thanks to our club volunteers for coming out super early morning to cook!

Member Appreciation BBQ!
Work hard play hard! The Summer is coming to an end but it doesn’t stomp our spirit from celebrating another successful year and to kick-off the new year. On the past Saturday, we had a BBQ gathering to bond and appreciate all the hard work that our members put in to make all our events happened. As a token of appreciation, we also presented everyone a collage of pictures taken from events and activities of last year. We will have lots of service and fundraising events coming up soon. Stay tuned and subscribe to our Facebook to hear more about our upcoming events!

Back from our club retreat!
No wifi, no reception - no problem. An amazing and blissful weekend at Knouff Lake Resort was spent amongst serene waters with our members at our annual planning retreat. Not only was it a chance to appreciate the great outdoors in beautiful British Columbia, it was a valuable team-building experience.
We've got some big plans ahead in the new Lions year. We look forward to our meetings in the months ahead to discuss and execute our planned projects. Our core objectives remain the same: to make an impact and to better serve our communities.Check out the photos on our facebook page.

VDCLC Pub Night Fundraiser to support Focus Foundation of BC
Despite the calm of the quiet summer months around us, the Vancouver Diamond Campus Lions Club successfully held a pub night fundraiser in support of Focus Foundation of BC. Fun and games, raffle prizes, and burgers and beers were part of the equation as the VDCLC fundraised and created awareness for an important organization committed to education of at-risk youth. With an overwhelmingly positive turnout of over 50 guests at Blackbird Public House, the night was a great success. Thank you to all the attendees again for the generous support. Your willingness to help provide youth with access to educational opportunities will no doubt contribute positively to the community and leave a lasting impression on the youth in the Focus BC family.

Spring Conference 2015
Last month, our club attended the annual District 19A Spring Conference celebrating our district’s successful year. With the help of many dedicated committee members and volunteers, we enjoyed a fabulous conference with a packed schedule for the whole day. The morning started with an Opening Session at 8:30am followed by Memorial Service and Voting, then Buffet Luncheon at noon. The highlight for us was definitely the keynote speaker at the luncheon, Peter Legge – a best-selling author of fifteen books and a community leader who devotes his time to many worthwhile organizations. He was very inspirational and shared with us many stories and how to make the most out of each day. It was wonderful to hear him talk and motivate people towards positive change.
A big thank you to the Conference Co-Chairpersons and the organizing committee for a fantastic program. And congratulations to DG Jimmy Ho on a successful Lions year! We look forward to another successful year serving with fellow lions in our district.
