Lower Mainland Christmas Bureau 2017

The Vancouver Diamond Campus Lions Club believe the best gift for Christmas is offering our time to help others within our local community. Our club spent the lovely holidays back again this year at the Lower Mainland Christmas Bureau by being santa’s 🎅 little helpers. At this big warehouse, we organized hundreds of donated 🎁items such as books 📒, clothes 👕, toys 🎮, equipment 🎿, supplies 🎨 etc into sealed boxes 📦 and bags so low-income families can receive during Christmas day.
Happy Holidays everyone! 🎄 Stay warm and safe!

Ronald McDonald House Dinner & Music

Blink and it's another year! The Vancouver Diamond Campus Lions Club came back to Ronald McDonald House BC to cook a delicious fall dinner for the families. The menu consisted of butternut squash soup and chicken Alfredo pasta. Special for this year was a two man guitar music band as extra entertainment. A huge thanks to our club volunteers for coming out super early morning to cook!

2017 VDCLC Installation

In the blink of an eye we are back to that time again! The serious installation business was complemented with team games and a funny emcee. We were very pleased to induct a new member Shoran Gui to our club and we look forward to her great contribution to our club. We were also graced with the presence of both our immediate past district governor: Simon Yau and former district governors Eric Keller and Cecil Fund as well as our current district governor Grace Hwo.

A huge congratulations to our club award winners: Aaron Liu (Charter President's Award), Alan Chan (Leadership Award), Most Organized Lion Award (Alarica Tang) and Christy Sin (Lion of the Year Award).

We want to extend a huge thank you to the members who came from our brother & sister Lions Clubs Vancouver Templeton Lions Club, Vancouver Chinatown Lions Club and Vancouver Diamond Lions Club.

2017 Human Library

This past Saturday, we held a human library event at Burnaby Public Library. It was so inspiring to hear all the "books" engagingly tell us their experiences. The books included a brain surgery patient/world traveller on the cheap, child abuse survivor, legally blind advocate, self-made millionaire and former criminal turned entrepreneur. We would like to thank all these individuals for taking the time to share their incredibly meaningful life experiences with us. We look forward to having a similar event next year!

5th Annual Yuk Yuk's Comedy Fundraiser

It has come to that time of year again! We had our most fun fundraiser at Yuk Yuk's to raise funds for Covenant House Vancouver. The comedians had the audience regularly in stitches of laughter. The turnout was awesome and we managed to raise $2000. A huge thank you to all of our guests who came to support this great cause. More awesome events to come!

2016 Christmas Party

The holiday bells are ringing once again! After another successful calendar year, we congregated in the warm dwelling of our charter president: Alvin Lau for some holiday dance dance revolution, cookie trading and an abundance of chicken potluck dishes. It was wonderful to see the holidays smiles of club members and friends. We look forward to accomplishing our goals and overcoming challenges next year!

Ronald McDonald House Dinner

This time around, the Vancouver Diamond Campus Lions Club came back to Ronald McDonald House BC to cook dinner for the families. It was a spectacular event with towers of scrumptious food and tons of fun! Huge thanks to our sponsors, Canada SafewaySave-On-Foods and Loblaws City Market for making this happen again. It is always so heart melting to see the smiles on the children and parents. This was all topped off by another awesome acoustic performance from our very own club IT Director: Paul Lam. We were able to see smiles all around before the kids were tucked into their evening movie session.

A huge thanks to our club volunteers and friends for coming out to cook!
